Handy Tips

To help you find what you are looking for

Handy Tip#1:

Measure your space!

If you’re unsure if your ideal table size will fit, use a tape measure to check if the table’s dimensions will fit that area that you want to put your dining table in (Length + Width).

Step one, measure your space to see if your table and seats will fit.

Handy Tip#2:

Will the chairs fit?

(In addition to Handy Tip#1) If you’ve got your dining chairs already, place masking tape on your floors that match the length and width of the table that you’d like to get, and then place the chairs all around the masking tape area to see where your chairs will go. This will help you determine if the size of the table that you are looking at getting will fit the number of seats that you have/are wanting.

Use masking tape (preferrably low-tack) on the floor where your dining table will be to get an idea of how much space your table will take up.

Handy Tip#3:

"Standard" width of the dining table

It will depend on your space and how many chairs you would like to fit around the dining table.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you want people seated at the ends of the table?
  • Do you want some space to be able to place meals at the centre of the table to share?
  • But more importantly, will this fit your space? Refer to Handy Tip #1 & #2

These are just some things to think about!

How many chairs would you like to fit around your table? This will determine the size of your table.

Handy Tip#4:

How to figure out the height of the table

Do you have arm-rests on your chairs?

If yes, measure the chairs from the ground to the top of the arm-rests. This will determine the height of the legs of the custom dining table to allow the chairs (and arm-rests) to be tucked underneath the table.

If no, the standard height is between 750mm to 770mm from the ground to the top of the custom dining table-top. But you can modify the height to suit your needs.

Once you have an idea of the style and type of legs of your chairs, the height of the table will become clearer.

Handy Tip#5:

Not sure of what style of legs you would like?
